One or more items can be reserved, and paid for in installments.
This offer to be agreed and set prior to a 'Total to Pay' email is sent.
WHAT CAN BE 'HELD'?
Any single item listed on this site priced @ £75 or more
HOW MANY ITEMS CAN BE HELD AT ONE TIME?
As many as you think your budget can stretch to! If there are at least 4 items in the equation, then the lowest priced item can be £35.
IF PURCHASING A QUANTITY, DOES THIS TRANSACTION QUALIFY
IN THE DISCOUNT SCHEME, AS SET OUT ON THE ORDERING PAGE?
Yes! However, due to the bank's paying-in fee, each installment (excluding the initial payment) paid will incur a lesser discount of £1.
DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
..an initial payment of 20% of the full price of each item will be required. This is not a 'deposit', but an 'option to purchase' at the agreed price and duration.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'AN OPTION TO PURCHASE' AND A DEPOSIT?
The initial payment of the Option To Purchase is the price paid to buy the reserved item/s at the stated price, and to pay in full within the agreed specified period.
If the purchaser defaults, either by not keeping up with installments and / or final payment within the specified period, or chooses to opt out of the final purchase, the initial payment (i.e. the Option To Purchase amount) is non refundable, but all other payments received are.
However, any expenses* incurred will have to be deducted from the monies to be returned. For UK residents this would be minimal: £1.30p per cheque received and returned ~ this is the bank's charges. For overseas clients it would depend how any payment was made ~ ask.
If a C r e d i t or D e b i t C a r d** refund, then an overall 4% plus any minimal bank charges incurred to cover all costs. Note that if a card is being employed for this service, then the payment has to be via the telephone.
Technically, a deposit cannot be withheld or retained. Therefore, if a deposit is received, and at a later stage the client withdraws from the purchase, the deposit is returned, thus the whole object of the exercise is futile for the seller!
* any of the client's own expenses will not funded
** refunded 0nly to the same person and c a r d number as received from.
HOW MANY INSTALLMENTS DO I NEED TO PAY?
It is preferred that a maximum of 4* installments are paid to cover the full amount.
* the first installment being the £50, or 20%, whichever is the least. This amount is the 'option to purchase'.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM PERIOD I CAN TAKE TO PAY IN FULL?
Depending on the amount, between one and four months. As a guide: £75 one month; £180 two months; £350 three months; £500+ 4 months.
WHAT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM PAYING THE FINAL INSTALLMENT PRIOR TO THE AGREED DEADLINE?
Depending on the time requested to extend, a charge for storage, etc, will be levied. Don't worry, as it is not Auction House rates! The charge would be: 12% per month of the amount owed* if less than ££50; 8% per month of the amount owed* if between £51 and £150; 5% per month of the amount owed* if £151 or more. The final installment must include this amount, and not paid separately.
If there is an amount to pay outstanding, and no payment has been received between the agreed deadline and 5 Calendar months thereafter**, the transaction will be voided. Excluding the 20% Option To Pay amount, plus any expenses to the seller, monies received will be returned.
* the amount owed, not the total purchase value.
** an extension of 5 months to pay is the maximum period that is acceptable
WHEN DO I RECEIVE THE ITEM/ S RESERVED?
When full payment has been received. Until that time, the goods remain the full property of the seller.
WHAT IF, WHEN I RECEIVE MY ORDER, I REQUEST A REFUND?
20+ years of trading, the returns are about 0.2% ! Therefore, one would have to have a qualified reason (excuse?) for returning something purchased via installments.
This is not a disclaimer. All goods are guaranteed as stated. Note that printed goods (i.e. books and magazines) are non-returnable.
HOW DO I PROCEED WITH RESERVING ONE OR MORE ITEMS?
When you have decided exactly what it is you wish to purchase in one transaction, email the list, stating the duration you would prefer the payments spread over, and what method you would like to pay.
If you are a non-UK resident, and are undecided on the latter, please read the information set out under the heading METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED on the Ordering page.
